I AM LORD VOLDEMORT ([personal profile] flightofdeath) wrote in [community profile] asgardmeridiem 2013-10-14 06:05 pm (UTC)

He must admit this man is good. Watching his craft, his calculated action and his careful movement, is truly a sight to behold. It excites him to see it in action, to see himself being taken seriously, although it is proving troublesome at the same time. He would rather be underestimated in this situation, would rather be seen with eyes foolish than eyes keen, as the former are infinity easier to convince to see his vision and his will. It is with this thought that he recognizes that he must not allow this man to have his goal, to give him opportunity to scrutinize him from close up.

"I find it presumptuous that you would think I'd be interested in speaking at all," And there it is, flat out; a direct challenge, "I find it presumptuous that you think because we are from the same world, you might have an instant sway over what I might do or think. I find it presumptuous that you intend to talk strategy to me, as though none of what you've said has occurred to me already. You are wrong, Severus Snape. I am flattered, as you so clearly seem to think me important, which I will not argue, but ultimately, I have little need of you. And so, I bid you good day."

When he walks away, it is with the gait of someone who is unafraid of retaliation. It is the gait of someone who walks with purpose, but is not running, is not fleeing. It is the gait of someone who embodies confidence, who cannot be touched. Let him try to stop Lord Voldemort, he thinks, let this Snape attempt to call him back with something, anything in the attempt to stop him, and let his spirit crumble in realizing Voldemort will have no part of it.
