[ Thiazi had taken great care to make sure that he would not be home when she arrived. There was something about presentation, the set-up, that was just as crucial as the execution, and she wanted to make sure that hers was absolutely flawless. So she waited for him, resting comfortably and almost delicately on a chaise lounge in his sitting room, a glass of his finest wine in hand.
Her coat was hung by the door, the slip of her dress elegant but soft. Hair loose today, projecting a sweetness that she rarely ever tried to wear.
It had been a while since they had spoken. She was going to fix that. ]
