Who: Dean Winchester & Jo Harvelle.
What: Oh, you know, just two strangers running into each other.
When: Day 462.
Where: Bumping into each other while Dean is wandering the city.
Rating: idk man it sure is Dean and Jo. PG for language!
Dean had been taking his time in adjusting to where he was. Occasionally, he'd consider the offer that had given to him of speaking to the city at large via the network, but that hadn't quite seemed like an option yet. He wasn't really into the whole mass-cooperation idea, even if they were all stuck in the same place.
Rather, he'd been spending most of his time out around the city to get himself familiar with it. At the very least, he had to assume that everyone had done whatever they could to get out of there, and Dean was all too familiar with trying to tango with the will of the Gods. The next best thing to escaping was doing recon; he hadn't been able to find any indication of Sam or Castiel being there, so getting all up and personal with the city itself had been his next priority.
He's not paying much mind as he walks down the street, which means of course he collides with someone, knocking into them. "Whoa- Sorry about that-"

It's easier when she's trying to explain it to someone else. It's easier when she can downplay it outward, act like it doesn't keep her up at night, doesn't leave her trembling a moment longer when she realizes people are gone. What if they're gone for good? What if she'll never see them again? What if, seeing Dean stand in front of her now, is the last thing she ever does?
Not that it would be that different from home (god, she misses her mom sometimes).
Dean steps forward, then, wraps his arms around her for a hug, and Jo tenses. Gale left weeks ago, everyone since then, and while Jo isn't really a physically affectionate person normally, after the initial shock Jo melts into his arms. Her face falls into his chest, and her arms go around his middle, and God, she's missed him. Missed him more than she even realized.

The way she responds to it surprises him, expected something quick and simple before Jo was shoving him away and brushing off the situation. It's quite the opposite, and Dean lingers as long as she needs it, because if there's one thing he's good at, it's reading girls. (And Sam, but close enough, right.)
"Bad week, huh?" He knows the look of one, and he has to wonder if it's been more than a week that's been hard on her.

"You have no idea." Is what she eventually says into his shoulder, breathing once, twice, and then pulling away from him- as much as she might be okay with just sitting there, never letting him go and challenging the gods to send him back this time, she can't. Won't let herself.
She has to stand on her own and keep moving. Dean's new which means he needs the rundown and- yeah. Jo gives him a tight smile, an apology of sorts, before she settles. "But showing up here's not any easier."
