Sam rolls his eyes at Castiel's back as he is, as per usual, a stubborn asshole about the entire thing and walks of his own accord. Sam lets him, though, catching up with a few quick hopped steps as he walks along, keeping his hands in the pockets of his jacket as he glances around the city as they walk out of the Freyr district.

"This place looks like a wreck," Sam murmurs to himself, unable to keep quiet as they walk.

"My bet is a long time."

Long enough for military lockdown to take effect, anyway. Sam's hands are in his pockets, but he's tense, and seems to be intent on getting to safety as quickly as possible.

"Come on, we need to get inside and get caught up on what's going on, this place is giving me the creeps."

"Either way, sucks," Sam answers, speaking the unspoken sentence, and he pauses to allow a patrol by before continuing forward, pursing his lips together. "We'll need to figure out what the gods are up to, a roster of whoever's still here... I wonder if Kate is around..."

More thinking to himself than anything else.

"We'll just regroup tomorrow," Sam says after a few minutes of silence as they walk, approaching the Roadhouse with a sense of trepidation. If it's empty, then it's empty, and the odds of anyone else being here from their universe have shrunk drastically. Jo wouldn't leave this place unless she had to.

He draws in a breath.

"Let's go, then."
