[Castiel has done nothing but badger at Sam to go find Daphne and to hunt through the city for Daphne and while Sam doesn't believe in lying to his family (look at where that all wound up), he also doesn't want to add even more pain to his friend's already pretty terrible life. Nor does he want Jo to have to be the one to do that.]

I'll tell him. -- I made him lay down behind the bar so I'd hear him tripping over boxes if he tried to leave without me.

[ she snorts, taking a deep breath of her own before she pulls back. finally. the smile she pulls off is one of the most honest ones she's had in a while, looking up at sam like she wants to shake her head, likes she wants to look exasperated, but can't quite pull it off. ]

Either way, it's really good to see you again. And Cas better not think he could get out of here without saying hey to me, too.

[ there's a second of panic, there. where his hands drop and her hands drop and she thinks that maybe, if she turns away for too long, he won't be there. that will will turn into some kind of massive, city-wide dream.
