Hospital Log: Stab Ward Edition

Who: OPEN TO ALL
What: Get yourself treated for sudden stab wounds! Heal people who have been stabbed! Can't do much about the betrayal, though, sorry. Feel free to interact with other patients and stuff. Bond over bleedy betrayal!

Where: Sigyn district hospital

Momoka has managed to set aside an entire room for the sudden influx of stab wound victims, probably because most of the hospital workers are still blank and grey enough that they don't mind being ordered around by a ten-year-old. Anyway, this makes for easy interaction with everyone else going through the same thing as you. Make some stab friends!

[She draws in a breath and lets it out, a touch slowly.]

I see.

[Saw, actually. She regards him quietly for a moment, the question of what his thoughts are on the subject going unspoken but implied.]

[ He's got a lot of reservations when it comes to this whole Hearts cast nonsense. Not only because of what he read but because of things he's been seeing--Vanitas, a double Sora; Ventus, someone who looks just like him in every way...now Olette. Who wasn't really Olette. ]

He said...I got out.

[She raises her head slightly, expression growing more serious and also sadder. He saw, too, apparently. She wasn't sure if he had, but she'd been--... well, maybe 'hopeful' wasn't the word for it.]

Yeah. [ Which is more than an understatement at this point even if he looks down at his own hands rather than her at that moment ]

[She's not surprised, not at all. He has every right to know and every reason to want to. Before, she wouldn't have hesitated, but now...]

... What do you... think it meant? [She's wondering, yes, but-- truthfully, it's more of an attempt at stalling, at giving him just a little more time with his world view intact.]

...I don't know. He said I was...~~his~~ a Nobody.

[She'd been half-hoping he didn't see that, either, even if it does actually make explaining things a little easier. She takes a deep breath, then lets it out.]

[She turns her eyes away, then her face, too.]

Are you sure that that's something that you want to know? You... you won't like it.

...I don't know. [ Which is the honest truth. part og him wants to try and understand what's been going on with Riku, Sora, Ventus...the imposter Sora too. But a large part of him is unsure now and he isn't sure what he wants more. ]

[... It's his choice. Just like it should have always been. She's had to take so much away from him already - can't she give him this, now, while she has the opportunity?]

Then... I can wait until you do know. You can ask me again, when you're ready.

They're not...going to do anything to me--right? I can stay the way I am right?

[That's a horrible thing to be asked.]

[It's not his fault, of course not - and she can understand why he'd want to know. It's just that the question makes her feel sick, knowing what she does.]

You mean... will they send you back to Sora?

[ He can't even swallow the lump in his throat enough to ask--Roxas just nods, wordlessly, and fists his hands in the fabric of his bedding. ]

[If she were the type for attempting to physically comfort another, she'd probably place her hand over his, but she doesn't. Her hands remain folded uncomfortably together in her lap.]

I don't know. [She wishes desperately that she had a better answer, but she does manage to add,] But I don't think so. I don't think that that's what they want from you. [Or her. Her own experience is all she really has to go on, here.]

Then what do they want with me...? Why do I keep seeing them all in my dreams? Is it...is it because of my heart? Because it's damaged?? [ And this would be the result of Vanitas' influence; his little seed of doubt and misinformation that has honestly become a big concern of Roxas'. ]

[-- Huh. By 'they' she originally meant the gods, but that's... an interesting turn of events. What has Roxas thinking like that?]

No, Roxas, it's not that. The people that you've seen in your dreams-- it's not their fault. [It's hers--] What makes you think that your heart is damaged? [He shouldn't even have one to be damaged, but why would he think anything was going on with it at all unless there was something more to this?]

...Because there's something wrong with me, isn't there? [ Like hallucinating and seeing a fake Sora and seeing time stop and monsters no one else recognizes and having crazy dreams about people he's never met before. He doesn't want to tell her a fake corrupted Sora told him that ]

[That's too horrible a way to put it. She's reminded of how he reacted when she told him he wasn't crazy. Is that what's troubling him?]

You're... different. [In a way that could and probably should be considered 'something wrong with him', it's just that, thinking of the way he reacted before, she can't help feeling that maybe it would be best not to phrase it that way.] But it's not that. You don't have a damaged heart. [Because he doesn't have a heart at all.]

...Different? [ What does that mean?? It doesn't seem like an answer to him at all--different? Is he just like this then? There was never anything to be done to begin with? He was just destined to have all these problems the week before his summer vacation ended? ]
