Who: Pyro and Euri
What: A burger date that was never meant to happen.
When: Day 261
Where: Baldr district, Mushroom House and then a greasy spoon diner.
Rating: PG-13, but could change with these two. I'll edit if it does.
[We're not even mentioning what Euri promised Pyro to get him to this stage.
He's in slacks and a button-down shirt, his hair neatly combed, and he's waiting at the door of the Mushroom House with - no, okay, he didn't buy flowers or anything. He's not that whipped. But he's still going on a date, a damn date, when he's resisted all the trappings of romance at every turn. Especially with Euri, who's clearly more relationship-oriented than Oswin.
But here he is, because he is a slave to baser urges. He's got a Bic lighter in one hand, which he keeps flicking on and off irritably - it's quieter than the clank of his zippo, which is currently in the disappeared Bobby's room, but that only makes him moodier. He likes the clank, and feels a bit edgy with such a piece of shit lighter in the zippo's place (they always melted under the force of his flame, every single time, until he finally stumbled across his trademark source of fire).
Finally, he knocks. God, she'd better appreciate this.]

He's bullshitting you about hot dogs, Euri. They're just the tail end of meat that doesn't get used for other things, all ground up and made into a kind of cheap sausage. No dogs involved.

[Please don't be lying please don't be lying.]

Good... I was really panicking for a minute there.
Why would he lie about that, though?

[It's hard to tell if he's got the self-awareness to include himself in that category.]

He isn't usually that bad.

I can't believe him....

[He hasn't brought that up in a long time, and luckily one of the grey-faced waitresses arrives with the menus just as he's said it. He picks up his menu and opens it at a slight tilt, so he can see over it if she's going to pitch a fit.
Okay, he's a giant hypocrite all the time, but that explains why he won't allow it in other people.]

[She just sinks self-consciously in her seat, snatching a menu to hide behind. Of course she's barely reading it and quickly ordering a chicken burger and a coke.]

Which doesn't seem too bad! She'll take a large - too large - sip of it.
Aaaand start coughing because holy crap carbonation.]

Give her a minute to clear her throat, then she's glaring at him.]
Don't even!

[But it isn't bad. She'll take another sip, a much slower one this time.]

[But now he's interested again.]
So?

[He finally takes a sip of his, trying to remember when he tasted it for the first time. It's impossible to pull out a memory of something so deeply ingrained, like trying to recall the first commercial he ever saw on TV.
He's not exactly one for deep thoughts, but the strangeness of all these different worlds finally hits him in that moment, and he gives her a strange look.]
