[open] if you don't shut your mouth, you're gonna feel the floor.
Who: John Allerdyce and, perhaps, you.
What: Crossing the line and getting his ass fired.
When:Night 267
Where: Baldr, either at the bar or wandering.
Rating: PG-13 for John's mouth and potential violence, will mark up if needed.
[They knew that he drank on shift. They knew that he mouthed off customers and occasionally even told them to get right the fuck out of the bar. But they were strapped for employees, so they held onto him.
Until he got extremely loaded on this particular evening and started - or attempted to start - a fistfight with his boss. The large, burly man had just enough colour to be angry, so he joined in gladly, and it got to the point where Pyro had to pull his knife. One long cut up his boss's bicep later, Pyro's ass was out on the street.
You can find him:
A) Standing in the open doorway of the small bar, hollering abuse at the owner/bouncer who just threw him out, his arms and face badly bruised and a slight list to his walk;
or
B) Wandering through Baldr with a fresh bottle in his hand, a steady stream of muttered annoyance trailing behind him. There may be shadows of bruising left, but they'll be hard to make out in the darkness.
It's hard being Pyro, damnit. So much manpain, so little time.]

Yeah, why not. I'm not used to fighting so hands-on.

If you could throw fire at people from age twelve, would you fight any other way? Pretty hard to plan for being kidnapped by gods and having your DNA rewritten.

I learned pretty quick that anything could be a weapon. Went after one guy with a broken bar glass. God, it's a good thing Magneto isn't around to see this.
[His smile drops a little. Well, that was a huge slip.]
The one from my time, anyway.

That time thing is weird.

[He shakes his head, leaning forward with his elbows on his knees.]
They're the same people, but they aren't. It's fucked up.
[He won't admit that he feels the Magneto and Mystique he left behind could tear this place down in seconds, since he is still loyal to the Brotherhood (and this Magneto would strangle him if it got back to him, Pyro's pretty sure).]

[connor lets out a long breath, not quite sharp enough to whistle]
That's crazy. I've only heard like... six.

[A dry little chuckle.]
- lemme guess, we don't keep our memory of this place when we go back.
no subject
[connor seems to have upset himself somehow -- his jaw works with something just short of anger]
If we survive and leave, it'll be like none of this ever happened.

But that disturbs him even more, because it raises so many smaller questions: how much should he really worry about the struggles back home? Should he cling to his enmity with Bobby, keep Oswin at arm's length romantically? Couldn't he, theoretically, live a whole different kind of life here just to see how it feels?]
2/2
Good. I don't need the distraction when I get back.
no subject
If you see it as a distraction, rather than an experience, then yeah it's better.
no subject
Well, he doesn't, but he's rude.]
You one of the dead ones?
no subject
No, I'm alive.
[how much longer is a bit of a crapshoot, what with the fact he was yanked into asgard during the actual apocalypse, but hey. that happens more often than you'd think.]

Now I'm guessing a girl.

[It's hard to tell what to make of that statement, whether it's positive or negative. Pyro definitely loathes Bobby's relationship with Rogue, but his feelings about Bobby himself are more ambivalent these days. It's easier to see flashes of his former friend's old self without Rogue around.]
You still think it's worth it, knowing it'll only last here?
no subject
It hurts sometimes. But it's not like relationships are guaranteed to last even if you do have all the time in the world. Take every moment, since they could run out at any time. We won't remember the loss, either -- why make it come early?
Honestly, we just don't talk about it, since we found out.
no subject
I'll just never get it.
