GIrls Night Out (Closed)
Who: Samantha and Penelope
What: Attempts at Relaxation just before this place turns into a frozen hell for a week.
When: Backdated to Evening 302
Where: Folkvang Comfort House
Rating: PG, maybe PG-13, Just awkward conversations and general body consciousness issues for both of them.
She didn't do this often enough. That was the first thing on Samantha's mind as she made her way towards Folkvang. She'd sent directions onto little miss Handkerchief and a good time to meet up and now she was standing just outside of the entrance. At least it wasn't raining today, and the temperatures weren't too cool. But, as she stood there, waiting on Penelope, she had to reflect on the fact that she hadn't come here in at least a month, and the last time had been with Eve.
Really, she didn't get out enough period. There were only a few people who dragged her out of her house and shop, filled with her plots, plans, research and work. She needed to force herself to do this more often. It was a good excuse, getting to know the strange girl who didn't want her face seen. Pulling out rolling papers, she made herself a cigarette and lit it up. The sweet scent of cloves filled the air around her while she waited, watching the road for her companion this evening.

It didn't make her feel any less awkward or nervous about the whole thing as she made her way to Folkvang, however. She ran a gloved hand over her scarf, ignoring the strange glances she got because it was far better than the screams she would hear and the way people would run if she wasn't wearing it. Her eyes scanned just about everything as she walked, eventually landing on Samantha in the distance. Smiling behind her scarf, she offered the girl a brief wave and sped up a bit until she was close enough to smell the clove cigarette as well.
"I'm not late, am I?"

She looked Penelope over and tried not to chuckle. She should have realized that, with as much of her skin as she liked to have covered, this was going to be tricky. Reaching into a little satchel she kept strapped to her side, she pulled out a blindfold.
"Ummm, so... call it a hunch, but with the gloves and handkerchiefs... if we're going into a sauna, would you rather I wear this?" she said, dangling it so she could see. It wasn't that she was entirely comfortable with the idea. It was more that Penelope just didn't seem that threatening.

"I--" She lifted a hand to touch her scarf, brow furrowing a little. She hadn't thought about it, either, but to be fair, Penelope had no idea what to expect when they walked inside. "Do you think they have masks?" The hospital did; maybe Folkvang would have something similar. The gloves could be removed easily enough, but the scarf...

She puffed in again and blew a bit more, taking a long drag in the process. When she'd finished, she looked it over and nodded, tamping the rest out on the ground and kicking it back into a gutter. "But we can ask if you want. It's no big deal as long as it's just the two of us."

"I think I'll skip the facial," she said, fingers toying with the end of her scarf. "But the sauna and the blindfold, that'll work."

"If you want, I'll get changed into the towel first and meet you inside."

Reaching down, she showed one of the thick, large towels that were used. It was likely to cover her fairly well ... well, at least as well as a short dress.
no subject
"I suppose that'll be sufficient," she said after a moment's consideration. "Are there private ares to change, or is this it?"
no subject
"I'll make sure they know to leave you alone in here for a minute and ... well, i guess I'll see you after a fashion soon."

"Penelope?"
no subject
"Yes, it's me." With one hand keeping the towel together, Penelope made her way to sit down beside Samantha. "It really is warm in here, isn't it?"
no subject
"If you want a little more steam," she said, her tail flopping over and onto Penelope's lap idly. "Go ahead and toss water onto the rocks, but not too much of it."
This close, the smell of sulfur was there, but it was pretty clear that Sam couldn't see her at all. Her hands moved a lot slower and fumbled a bit. The cambion seemed already a little flushed, though admittedly part of that was her imagination playing tricks on her about what it was that Penelope hid so hard.
"Penelope... just an observation, if you don't mind."

It would come off fully eventually, but having it that close to her face still - just in case - was comforting for her. Even with the blindfold, she was incredibly nervous about pushing her luck like this; even if Samantha was different herself, Penelope still had a deeply embedded fear of her running away.
"I don't." She settled back against the wall, brow furrowing a little in an effort to see better through the steam.

"If you'd seen my boyfriend... you'd know people really aren't that worried about what's under the scarf. He's definitely an ... acquired taste," she added, chuckling and swallowing once. She was finally starting to relax, inch by inch. She'd needed this for a while.
no subject
"They may not be," she finally spoke up, voice quiet but firm, "But that doesn't mean I'm comfortable with revealing it. People can be as curious as they'd like."
no subject
She was all alone and nothing was going wrong. Penelope felt completely harmless, which was a nice change of pace. "Just saying. I'll probably stay curious, but you'll take it off whenever you're ready to do that."
no subject
Perhaps she was coming off rudely, but Penelope really didn't care at that moment; she wanted to make sure that Samantha understood how she felt. If she had a problem with it, Penelope would likely forgo spending time with her again.

"So... did you ever end up finding a job? I'd been meaning to ask you about that." And, just like that the other topic was done, even if it was a little forced.
