[OPEN] EVENT LOG: BAD MOON RISING - WEEK TWO

Who: EVERYONE!
What: Bad Moon Rising: Week Two
When: Days 323-326 ( September 8-15 )
Where: All across the city.
Rating: PG-13. Anything that might go higher than that should be taken to a private log, please!

[ You've been on edge. Inexplicably, so far as you can tell in the moments after those short bouts of quick, sharp anger you've experienced in the past few days - but maybe it's simply stress from the recent attacks on the city. Perhaps some rest will help, or a nice day at Folkvang to decompress and gather yourself.

Whatever you try, though, the odd feeling of being off stubbornly lingers on. Anger is joined by discomfort, the shadows in the corners of the room just a little bit darker than usual and did you see something dart down that alley way? The hallucinations creep into every day activities, paranoia and snappishness leading to insomnia and sleep deprivation. Try as you may to ignore it, the symptoms only seem to escalate over time. Maybe it's stress. Maybe it's something else entirely.

But it's stubbornly lingering on. Perhaps some rest will help ... ]

[ OOC NOTES: This is the mingle log for Week 2 of the Bad Moon Rising event! Characters will start experiencing auditory and visual hallucinations alongside vivid violent thoughts at strange, innocuous moments. Some characters may start sleep walking and heading towards the Gate of Fog; none will make it, however, so lock your doors and keep an eye on your friends. Please put [OPEN/CLOSED] along with the time/location in your comment titles. Let us know if you have any questions or concerns! ]

[That's... very literal of the guy, enough to knock a little bit more suspicion loose.]

Uh, sure. I don't normally sleepwalk, so it might be better to have company for a little while. [Which should prove Steve is willing to look past first impressions as well as give him more time to collect information. The others will probably want to know too, after all.]

[ truth be told, he followed the path of Things That Have Been Mysteriously Knocked Over to find the guy, he thought it better to make sure it doesn't happen again. ]

I shall aid you as best I can. [ as they walk, he stays at the man's side though within a respectable distance, so as not to set him off again. ] My name is Harry, if it will make further conversation less reminiscent of those we do not speak kindly of.

[It's certainly kinder than Steve would expect from most people, and he does appreciate the company when everything's dark and quiet like this, even if the situation remains incredibly weird.]

Steve. I never would've pegged you for a Harry, even without the whole face thing.

[ Weird doesn't even begin to describe the things Hal has seen around here, but he's getting used to just going along with it. It is kind of nice to have company, though. ]

A terribly old-sounding name, is it not? I do so detest it. [ not really, but he laughs anyway as they walk. this is much better. ] If you prefer, I have been known to answer to Hal.

It's just so normal, and then you sound like if this friend I used to have took up reciting old monologues. [Okay, who left these wheelbarrows sitting out in the middle of the street? Steve could probably jump over them even now, but he isn't in the mood so he goes around instead.] I don't mind using whichever name you're more comfortable with, though.

[It's a surprisingly normal conversation given the circumstances, but the banality of small talk helps to push away the unsettling feeling still lingering after that dream, the brief thought of how easy it would've been to break his guide in two rather than risk being wrong.]

Old monologues to you, perhaps, yet very contemporary to an old fellow like myself, mm? [ Hal pointedly avoids mentioning said wheelbarrows - one of the many obstacles poor Steve had bumped into on his evening stroll. Best not to wound his pride any further. ]

I much prefer Hal, matter of fact. Less stress on the tongue. [ since the other fellow with his face seemed to be a rather unpleasant sort, judging from his new friend's tone, Hal hopes to make up for it with lots of smiles and laughs and silly jokes. His face should be associated with good things. ] Much like Steve, actually.

[Steve's pride can take the hit, but thanks for looking out for it anyway. He nods in acknowledgement of Hal's point--"Steven" always meant trouble when he was younger and never took when he was older.]

Then I'll call you Hal. When are you from, if you don't mind my asking? [O...kay, one more wheelbarrow, and then the way is clear for a bit.]

[ hey now, sometimes manly pride is all a man has. ]

I am from England, and ... many years ago, to my understanding. [ awkward subject is always awkward, but Hal shrugs to at least pretend it doesn't bother him as much as it does. wouldn't do, to be a downer while making a new friend. ] And I've also come to understand that not many people have an England of their own back in their worlds.
