[open] The Roadhouse's doors are always open...
Who: Jo Harvelle & you!
What: Some conversations are best had over a beer.
When: various times after dream event.
Where: The Roadhouse
Rating: PG-13?
[ The Roadhouse is most always open - it gives people somewhere to go, and Jo something to do. Some people come to find Jo, other's just come to find peace. Either way, it's good alcohol and an informal atmosphere to forget your troubles for a while...
Just watch out for Ash on the pool table. ]
ooc: had a few plans for Jo and some of her CR, figured I'd throw up an open log for anyone looking for a reason to head to a bar and chat it up with the local, non-native bartender! Feel free to leave OTA tags, or have your characters interact with their own CR with the Roadhouse used as a meeting place of sorts. Totally up to you.

[Dean grimaces. He doesn't want to hear that he's so damn far behind everyone else when nobody was willing to do a damn thing about helping educate him.]
I could go at him with a pair of clippers but I'd probably wind up on my ass. The way it looks Sam's treatin' his hair like a precious commodity.
no subject
[ But she's not really. Not when she knows he at least gets to see the rest of it. That's where her line ends, as far as she knows. ]
Either way, it's pretty bad. Maybe wait till he's sleeping?
no subject
[Dean laughs into the bottle of his beer but it's not a real laugh, it's more annoyed than anything else.]
We're both more or less trained to snap awake at the first sound. We haven't been caught off guard yet.
no subject
[ She's kidding, of course. But she shrugs all the same, because while she might have been able to help him out on the updating bit, she'd promised Sam. ]
no subject
Yeah. That'd go over well.
no subject
[ But he seems to be in a better mood, and that makes her smile a little easier. ]
You could use your powers too. What house did you end up in?
no subject
[This is all lost on Dean. He has no clue what she's talking about and drowns out the uncertainty with another drink of beer.]
Freya. The bitch has me on a leash.
no subject
[ Not like Jo did when she got here, but she's been here almost five months now so those are just details. ]
Freya's are... uh. Charm and energy transfer, right?
no subject
[Dean takes another pull from the bottle of beer and then turns it around in his hands, picking at the label.]
no subject
[ There's a moment when she just kind of watches him, gauging his reaction, before she stands up from where she was leaning on the bar and takes a drink from her bottle. ]
It's not that bad, you know. [ A pause, and then she's shrugging a little. ] I mean, it's no home. And it's pretty shitty half the time, but it's not bad. Or I guess 'it could be worse' works better.
no subject
[And the story of his life. Things could always, always be worse. Hell, he was lucky to have Sam, Jo, and Ash around for company. He could be stuck here solo.]

no subject
Maybe you're right.
no subject
Something else bothering you?
no subject
[He punctuates that with the last sip of his beer and the backward roll of his shoulders so he can straighten his back on the bar stool. Changing the topic might be good because he wasn't about to share his feelings on anything. She should know better.]
no subject
Nothing you have questions about, maybe? [ She's looking for something, she really is. ] About the city, or your new welcome party, or the fact that we're kind of friends with King Arthur and Merlin...
no subject
[He's talking about Merlin and King Arthur. He's met a few people here but no one noteworthy like that.]
The only question I have is why Freya decided I needed some hoodoo to handle Ragnorak.
[He didn't want or need any special talents or powers here. He was fine being himself. Sure, he hadn't faced down an actual apocalypse but if they enlisted him obviously they thought he could handle it.]
no subject
[ That gets a snort out of Jo, just because really, Dean. ]
It's supposed to be a gift. Like a 'sorry for kidnapping you have some special powers' kind of shit. Some of the powers are really cool. Others, kind of lame, but eh. Better than nothing.
no subject
[Obviously Dean didn't care about Arthur. He wasn't a history buff like Sam. It was more up his kid brother's alley to geek out about it.]
Gee, thanks, yeah- that's a wonderful gift. Really makes up for the snatch and grab and bein' stuck here to top it all off.
no subject
[ If by sweet she means 'kind of saved my life when I showed up here with my guts hanging out'. ]
It's weird. He's only a teenager, really smart and way too nice for his own good. But still Merlin. Without the magic, of course. They take that when you get brought here.
At least they're trying. [ The level of sarcasm in her voice...even if she doesn't hate Asgard as much as other people do. It gave her a second chance and a family, she can't really complain. ]
no subject
[Dean's making fun of the way Jo's talking about him. Like she's smitten. He knocks back his beer again, it's empty now and he slides the bottle to the side with the knuckles of his hand.]
Yeah, that makes up for hostage situations and forced enlistment.
no subject
You know, Dean. As much as this place sucks, and it does suck, not all of us have a choice.
[ And she's not saying it like she's mad, because she's not. Dean has every reason to be pissed. Hell, she was pissed for a good month or so when she first got here. But it's been a while since she's really talked to someone who wanted to go home this badly. ]
no subject
What's that supposed to mean?
no subject
You say my dream, didn't you? [ And before he can really answer that, because she knows he did, she continues. ] It wasn't a dream. It's a memory.
don't tell him anything but hellhounds bc my thread in the council thread mentions it. :x fluidity
[His face falls into something between horror and rage. He leaves his beer alone, which is surprising. He pushes it to the side and leans into her. Not close enough to be uncomfortable but enough that it's obvious he's serious.]
You wanna explain that. 'Cause I'm not sure what the hell even tore you up. Just that it did and there wasn't a damn thing me or my stunt double could do about it.
