Who: Pyro and Euri
What: A burger date that was never meant to happen.
When: Day 261
Where: Baldr district, Mushroom House and then a greasy spoon diner.
Rating: PG-13, but could change with these two. I'll edit if it does.
[We're not even mentioning what Euri promised Pyro to get him to this stage.
He's in slacks and a button-down shirt, his hair neatly combed, and he's waiting at the door of the Mushroom House with - no, okay, he didn't buy flowers or anything. He's not that whipped. But he's still going on a date, a damn date, when he's resisted all the trappings of romance at every turn. Especially with Euri, who's clearly more relationship-oriented than Oswin.
But here he is, because he is a slave to baser urges. He's got a Bic lighter in one hand, which he keeps flicking on and off irritably - it's quieter than the clank of his zippo, which is currently in the disappeared Bobby's room, but that only makes him moodier. He likes the clank, and feels a bit edgy with such a piece of shit lighter in the zippo's place (they always melted under the force of his flame, every single time, until he finally stumbled across his trademark source of fire).
Finally, he knocks. God, she'd better appreciate this.]

You okay? [She lets go of him to nab the Bic. Yep, definitely not his normal fish one.]

[He glares at the lighter in her hand, then turns his gaze down to the quickly fading red spot on his thumb. Just a graze.]
Fine. Those things are just complete shit. [Once his hand is healed, he holds it out for the lighter.]

What happened to your fish lighter? The silver one?
no subject
no subject
You haven't gotten it back?
no subject
[And now there's genuine unease in his voice and expression. They were almost getting along, and then he vanished.]
no subject
Do you want to go get it later?
no subject
[A huff of frustration.]
I'm stuck 'til he gets back.
no subject
I could try.

[But it's his lighter. Pride or lighter. Pride or lighter?]
... yeah, alright. After we eat, we'll give it a try.

[He leads her around a corner and - wow, yeah, he wasn't kidding when he said it wasn't much to look at. If she were familiar with the term "greasy spoon", she'd recognise the style of diner immediately.]
no subject
Ah... I've never heard of this place before.

[He's just defending his favourite burger joint - he doesn't realize at all that she could be honoured by the fact that he brought her here.
He pushes the door open and walks in first, but at least has the courtesy to hold it open for her to walk though. It's not much better inside, but he'll make one more gesture and take a booth instead of sitting at the counter like he usually does.]
You had soda before?
no subject
Nope, what is it?
no subject
no subject
Sure. Does 'Coke' have anything else interesting about its flavour?
no subject
[He thinks for a second, then shakes his head.]
- I don't even know. Kids get it out of their baby bottles back home. You can't describe something when you're that used to it.

Do you eat hot dogs?
no subject
It's kinda like caramel, only more bitter. Not really bitter, 'cause it's packed with sugar, but kinda how licorice is sweet and not at the same time.
[And then things got random again.]
Sometimes. Why?
no subject
How could you be so cruel?! Dogs are wonderful! Don't fucking each them!
