[She looked down at it and grunted softly.]

Constantly. It doesn't get caught in doors often, but it's got a mind of its own the way it moves, I swear. I wouldn't want it gone, but it's annoying at times.

[She blinked and looked at the tail before cocking her head at Luna a little curiously.]

Uhhh, I've always had the tail and the horns, Luna. I'm what we call a cambion, a half demon. The tail just comes with the territory.

[She coughed a little uncomfortably. It was hard to remember if her world had succubi or not. Oh well, there was no point beating around the bush too much.]

You might have heard of a succubus, or you might not. It's a creature that feeds on sex. [Her cheeks heated a little.] I'm half that.

[A close approximation, in all honesty, though sirens tended to like the meat more than life force, but ... semantics.]

Human. My mother was a basically normal witch, and my father was an incubus. I ... can explain more if you need me to. It just gets into uncomfortable topics for some people.

You misunderstand. It's only a little uncomfortable for me. I'm used to explaining by now. No, it's more... I usually assume it would make you uncomfortable.

[She got up from off of the wall and looked around, shrugging. There was a hand motion and she started to walk, beckoning Luna to follow.]

Let's get something to drink then, while we talk. But, honestly, what are you curious about? There's a lot of possibilities.

[Some of them having very different permutations, as the faint color in the womans cheeks might have hinted. She was damned sure that Luna wasn't behaving in an 'interested' fashion, but she was also equally sure that this curiosity was the sort of thing that was easily abused, and she hated being a little tempted to abuse it.]

We could do that, yeah, though you'll be returning the favor. [She was a friend of Hermione's apparently, so Sam had to remember that. It helped her be a little less paranoid.] I'm not sure about butterbeer... but before I pick a spot, is that actual booze?

[A glance. No, there was no way she was twenty-one. So, not American. God help her, she had no clue why the Americans were so hung up on how old you had to be to drink. Actually, come to think of it, she didn't understand a lot of the hangups involved in blue laws. She chuckled though, shaking her head.]

We're a long way away from home. Those laws aren't around here, but we'll hit the Highwind if you'd rather. They've got good hot chocolate and the like.

It's over in Heimdall. A little bit of a walk, I'll admit, but it's not all the way across town. Don't worry about art supplies. You can find plenty easily enough.

[She started off in the general direction. She knew where Jade's place was reasonably well. She didn't go there often, but it was still nice as a change of pace sometimes. As she walked, her tail swished lazily behind her, almost like a cat's.]

[Ever noticed how it seemed like a cat's tail knew when it was being watched and would lash in a more animated way, trying to catch the person's attention? That was exactly what Sam's did at times like this, almost like it had a mind of its own. She, herself, glanced back at Luna once and sighed, giving a little laugh.]

The tail making you more curious?

[Swish, swish went the spade, lashing a bit as they talked about it. She looked back and shook her head.] Damned thing has a mind of its own, I swear. I don't trust it a lot of the time, not in social situations. It likes to grab people's ankles. Really awkward.

Did you want to know something about it? [She almost added 'or me,' but she figured those questions would come over time.]

[Not until they were at the Highwind, safely seated, thankfully. It wasn't quite long enough to grab legs willy nilly. At the question, though, she scratched her head.]

It can lift about five, ten pounds. It grabs... well, lots of things. It kind of likes to touch things and be inside of others. [Wow, now that's a veiled way of saying something horribly inappropriate to someone you just met.]

It's really sensitive though, so... be careful about touching it.

[It didn't lunge, but it had been into a person's mouth that way before. The context had been really different. The lack of control, thankfully, wasn't quite so sinister. As for that offending body part, it just languidly flipped around, seeming like it knew they were talking about it.

She nodded once and closed her eyes as they walked before coming to a pause.]

You can go ahead if you want. Just... not too much, ok? You'll get me excited.
