[closed] 'sassin bondin' times

Who: Asgard Brotherhood
What: rooftop dinnertimes
When: afternoon/evening 505 (after all 'sassins have voted on Satan)
Where: Needle roof!
Rating: PG-13

[ After speaking to the gods, Desmond headed back to the Needle for a beer, which he took up to the rooftop. It's a mild day in Asgard, overcast but not raining. He's leaning against the chimney when Connor finds him -- the novice was swinging by to speak to the masters, not wanting to have this conversation over the bracelets -- but Desmond offers him a beer and he puts more serious matters on hold to sit beside his comrade.

Maybe the others had the same idea to swing by the bureau, or just heard them from the shop downstairs, or maybe a couple beers in one of these boys sent you a message to come by. Point is, eventually there's a whole bunch of 'sassins up on the roof of Needle in a Haystack, and it's dinnertime. Let's family bbq. ]

(( you can thread finding them/being invited or hanging out at dinner or both, it's a free for all! ))

Desmond smiles back at Giovanni, surprised and touched at the compliment. He chuckles, taking another sip of his beer.

"Maybe, maybe. I bartended for many years, I suppose if the whole Assassin gig doesn't work out I can retire and open a restaurant." He watches Gio a minute, adding, "How are you doing?"

"I see no reason you could not do both; being an Assassin does not prevent you from having a life outside of it as well."

It had been one of the many points that he and Mario had argued over, and even if it hadn't entirely ended well for him it wasn't an idea that Giovanni was going to give up on either.

He sighed a bit at the question though, watching the people below for a moment. "I miss Maria." He admitted, "Though it is probably better she is not here, I am not sure I would survive her anger at me."

Not while the war is on, at least. There's too much to do already, but he just takes Gio's remark for what it is, a wise piece of advice to keep in mind.

"I've seen relationships survive through worse." Altaïr and Maria through everything, here and now and in the future. His own parents. "We got to see some of our families not too long ago, for a short while. Maybe they might come again, and maybe Maria will be with them. And your granddaughter," he adds impishly, remembering how much delight Gio had taken in Flavia when they both showed up in Asgard.
