Who: Everyone!
What: The mingle log for Wife Swap: Asgard Edition.
When: Days 395 & 396 (Jan 28-31)
Where: The cities of Asgard and Alfheim.
Rating: PG-13. Anything higher than that should be taken to a private log, please!

Day 395 (Jan 28-29)
Soon after sunrise, a train from Alfheim arrives in the city packed with a few dozen elves and crates and crates of supplies for the city. After the city's natives assist them in unloading everything, they will set up camp outside the castle.
In Asgard:
During the day, they will spend their time helping to repair and reinforce the city where it is still damaged from previous attacks. Their unusual technology is built entirely around steam and clockwork, with zero waste output, and they do everything that they can to help the city in a display of gratitude for the help that they have received.

They will spend their nights sticking close to their camp, but are friendly and cautiously curious about any Travelers who approach. Overall, they are intelligent and well-mannered, and though some of them seem not to know what to make of these visitors from other worlds, their appreciation is open and sincere.
In Alfheim:
Not all of the elves who arrive will be remaining in the city, however. Soon after they arrive, they will make an offer to escort any willing Travelers back to Alfheim to assist them in rebuilding their own city. After the flames went out and the Giants went home, several of the elven homes were left in ruin but the true damage is to the forestry that is the heart of their kingdom. Those in Sigyn with Growth or those with energy sharing, healing, or other such abilities as well as anyone simply interested in helping or curious about a new corner of Yggdrasil will be escorted back to the forests for two days of some mutual benefit.

Alfheim itself will be in burnt disrepair but still very much bustling with life. Charred wood is being stripped and stacked, replaced with fresh building materials as elves work together as efficiently as they can to return their home to what it once was.
Day 396 (Jan 30-31st)
Sunrise brings another long day of hard work, but things begin to slow down and relax in both kingdoms as the sun sets. Each city will set up a feast in the courtyards of their respective castles to celebrate their victory against the fire giants, to show their gratitude to the Travelers of Asgard, and to cement their alliance in the war.
In Asgard:
The city's natives will ask the travelers to assist them in setting up dishes from their home world to serve the their Elven friends, but there will be enormous tables heaped high with food from this one as well. The courtyard itself will be lit up with long strings of softly glowing white lights that seem magical in nature. While their fuzzy light is cool to the touch, the air near them is warm, and that warmth radiates out into the courtyard to cut away the biting chill from the entire area. Round tables with modest but elegant tablecloths will provide seating for anyone at the banquet, and some of the more adventurous elves themselves can be found carefully sampling just about everything from the Travelers' worlds.
In Alfheim:
Alfheim's natives will provide food and entertainment in the courtyard of their own castle. This feast will be a little louder as the drink begins to flow alongside Elven delicacies, and the food comes accompanied by joyous song and dance. There is a lot to celebrate, and the natives here seem eager to include the Travelers here in that celebration. When the party winds to a close, they will supply Asgard's travelers with both blankets and small packages of food and drink for the late night train ride home. They will arrive back in the city early on the morning of Day 397 (February 1st), when the visiting Elves still in Asgard will board and head back home.

Who: EVERYONE
What: The End
When: Day 367 ( Dec. 5/6 )
Where: all across the city
Rating: PG-13. Anything higher than that should be taken to a private log, please!

[ Just before noon on what is otherwise a normal enough day, if not still graced by the unnatural heat from Muspellheim's explosion, a low rumbling will start across the city. Those that've been in Asgard for some time now might recognise it from the last two earthquakes, and may think to shrug it off as easily as those minor shakes that lasted hardly a few seconds.

But this one grows in strength near immediately, and the Holy City is not built to withstand earthquakes. In fact, by the look of panic on the native's faces as the flood to the streets, it might be safe to say they've never seen one before at all.

This quake clocks in just over a minute and would rank near a 6.0 on the Richter scale. Buildings will shift and splinter, glass panes shatter and there will be moderate to significant damage crumbling smaller structures; the Welcome Halls will not be structurally impaired but objects and appliances inside the buildings will be in varying states of disorder and/or destruction; a few slight cracks will appear in the earth around the city that aren't terribly deep but will still cause imbalances and dangerous ground in several places; etc etc.

Anyone that does not evacuate crumbling buildings or get to safe ground during the quake may receive moderate to severe injuries, but the death toll should be reserved to only a handful of Natives in poorly designed structures. Relief efforts will begin immediately following the quake, so now is a good time to get outside and lend a hand to your neighbour.

Later in the evening, after things have had some time to calm down, characters that have psychic / precognitive / telepathic / spiritual abilities in their canon will begin to hear the whispers of the Norn. Just before midnight, all Travellers will be able to hear their murmurings of 'It won't stop' until at the strike of midnight, they collectively say 'This is only the beginning' at once.

The final message and the new prophecy of Ragnarok will ring clearly throughout everyone's minds.
"The End has yet to pass as it has been told from the Beginning. The sands are slipping through the cracks left behind. The world tree is decaying.

Nurture or burn. A decision must be reached, or the mother will decide for you. It will not stop, and this is only the beginning."
Following this ominous message, everyone will be left to their own devices. For now ... ]

Who: EVERYONE in the mirror!verse of Asgard
What: A House Divided mingle log for characters in the mirror!verse. The log for the real Asgard is here.
When: Days 360 - 364 ( Nov. 21 - 30 )
Where: in the mirror-Asgard, all across the city
Rating: PG-13 with warnings for graphic violence. Anything that warrants an "R" rating should be taken to a private log, please!

[ When the Travellers wake up on Day 360, they will find themselves in their beds, in their rooms, exactly where they fell asleep the night before, but something will be quite obviously off about the city. For one, the colours are all inverted, as though the whole of Asgard has gone grey again and the only colour remaining is in the places that were previously without. Odd, but not terribly damaging. It may be discouraging to think that colour will have to be restored all over again, but worse things have happened in the city. At least the city is still intact.

Or perhaps not. As the Travellers attempt to go about their business, it will soon become obvious that its wrongness extends past poor decorating choices. The city is near empty of all other Travellers, and the natives seem wary to interact with the few that are around. Communicating with them is impossible; the spell that translates all communication into Asgardian is gone and leaving characters to either speak in their native tongue or find alternative methods of communicating. The bracelets are inoperable and cannot connect to the network for anything.

Before long, as the Travellers attempt to figure out what's happening, other differences will become noticeable. Some Travellers' forms will have changed to reflect their true bodies or natures in ways you may not have been aware of. There will be a compulsion curse urging people to tell each other secrets and truths they've kept buried deep. Most importantly for some, their abilities from home will be restored. Please remember that no canon abilities used in the mirror!verse can affect the real Asgard in any way. What happens in the mirror!verse stays in the mirror!verse. More Travellers will start appearing by the evening of the same day, which may or may not be a good thing.

On Day 361, those previously wary natives will become outright hostile, attacking the Travellers on sight by any means available to them. They might even follow you home and throw rocks through your windows or riot against your workplace. You are strangers in their land and they want you out, almost as badly as the Fire Giants do. And there will be Giants, as they begin to fall into the city alongside more of your fellow Travellers. They will arrive immediately bewildered and frightened, attacking out of base instinct and desperation. As both the Giants and the natives attempt to drive the Travellers out of this strange version of Asgard, the sky will start sprinkling dust in random bursts, but this is by no means as threatening as the guy coming at you with a kitchen knife.

The fighting continues to escalate through Day 362 as more Travellers and Giants fall into the mirror!verse. Dust continues to fall more frequently and large cracks can be seen running across the sky, a bad omen for the fate of those living beneath it, a notion that will become literal by Day 363 when everything goes off the charts.

The colours will blow out of proportion in random places, some appearing like overexposed photos while others fall into black and white or sepia, or a mixture of anything and everything in between. The truth compulsion wears off for some, while other start to feel compelled even further to profess their secrets to anyone that will listen. Frost Giants will begin appearing alongside more and more Fire Giants and Travellers. The city becomes full to bursting with things that want the Travellers dead, until even the city itself starts ejecting them. Those whose canon abilities returned will die painfully all throughout the day as their magic is rejected by Yggdrasil's. As everything begins collapsing, the sky comes down with it like massive shards of broken glass that shatter upon impact and immediately kill anyone caught beneath it, leaving empty dark holes where the sky once was. Everything is wrong wrong wrong, and there seems no hope of correcting it.

At least, not from this side of the veil. Your fate will be left in the hands of another, and what they decide may come to surprise you ... ]

Who: EVERYONE
What: Look! A Distraction! Festival log part one. The overflow log can be found here and part two of the event can be found here.
When: Days 338-341 (Oct. 8-15)
Where: The castle courtyard.
Rating: PG-13. Anything higher than that should be taken to a private log, please!

[ All barriers are coming down for this five-day event: both the ones between the gods and their Travelers and between the city and its center. The castle courtyard is open to any and all for the next five days. NPC booths with games, snacks, and trinkets fill the space both along and around the entrance with plenty of room to spare for anything the Travelers might want to set up for themselves. Music and food fill the air at a constant, with firepits and decorative torches burning at night to light up the courtyard in an earthy glow and keep everyone warm. There will be plenty of food and entertainment, and the party will last throughout the night each night.

The theme of the festivities will change with every day:
Day 338 (Oct. 8/9)
It's time for a costume party! Travelers will be encouraged by the natives and gods alike to wear costumes both silly and serious! Anyone needing assistance simply need to say the word, and they will be descended upon by enthusiastic natives ready to help and desperate to put the tragedy of Thiazi's attack behind them.

Day 339 (Oct. 10/11)
Familiar scents will waft in the air with the theme of the second day: Home away from Home! The visiting god Honir has made a push to organize food and music straight from the Travelers' worlds, and it will all seem absolutely and utterly authentic. The natives will be cooking and playing music throughout the festival, and will be encouraging Travelers to to teach others about their own world/time's clothing and culture.

Day 340 (Oct. 12/13)
This day is going to follow something of a Samhain celebration. Merlin, with the permission and help from the gods, planted the seed of an oak tree in the centre of the courtyard. By this day, it will have grown as large as though it's been there for a hundred years. Travellers will be welcomed to tie ribbons or letters to the tree for their departed loved ones and friends, whether they've passed on or simply left the city, in remembrance and a final farewell.

However, being far too curious about to whom they're writing, Honir will be going through all of the ribbons and letters when no one's looking. Moved by their losses, he'll be bugging Mimir into helping him perform a spell that will bring a sort of comfort to everyone. Characters can receive up to a maximum of three photographs of themselves with whomever their ribbon is for, regardless of whether or not they ever took a picture with that person or even had the technology to do so. All of these photographs will be candid shots of happy memories that will be waiting for them on the Travelers' pillows.

(We aren't doing approvals for these so please, limit yourselves to only three photographs!)

Day 341 (Oct. 14/15)
This day will introduce a festival game with the gods! As you go around to the various booths and attractions throughout the festival, NPCs will be handing out small treats to anyone they see wearing the colors of their patron god - whether you wore the colour intentionally or not!

The gods themselves will also be hosting another game of sorts: each of Asgard's patrons and allies will have a riddle or trivia question for any Travelers that approach them. Answer these correctly and they will tie a token of their favor (a ribbon in their colour or crest) around your upper arm. These ribbons can be cashed in for prizes at any time during the rest of the festival! (More details can be found under Day 341 HERE.)
The log for the fifth day masquerade can be found here!

The event guide for various events throughout the festival can be found here. Please include your location and the IC day (ex. Day 338 - this can be found in the schedule) in your top-level comment or your subject line when starting a thread! If you want to request a certain god, feel free to ping them and we will do what we can. Otherwise, have fun, and as always - let us know if there's anything you need! ]
